Sultana Cake

Learn how to make a delicious Sultana Cake, using Ella’s favourite recipe. This is a simple and easy to follow recipe and we think you’ll love it.

Ingredients

  • 8oz Butter (softened)
  • 8oz Caster Sugar
  • 12oz Sultanas
  • 4 Eggs
  • 12oz Plain Flour

Method

  1. Place sultanas in saucepan, cover with cold water, bring to the boil, strain, dry and leave to go cold
  2. Cream butter and sugar until light and creamy
  3. Beat up eggs and slowly add to creamed mixture
  4. Fold in flour and lastly sultanas
  5. Put mixture into 8” round lined cake tin
  6. Bake at 140oC for ½ hour, turn down temperature to 130oC and continue to bake for a further 2 hours (approx). Keep covered during baking.
